City Lovin

Summer is the perfect season for everything; swimming, lawn games, s’mores, and trips to my favorite city, Chicago.

I’ve been spending some time in the city this summer and wanted to share with you my day and night city looks.

Taking the train into the city is a definite must in order to make the most of your time. A quick 20 minute drive to the Skokie Swift station and a hop over to the red line gets me right into Wrigleyville all while avoiding the tourist traffic. Recently, I celebrated the start of the summer with a big outdoor party in Andersonville.

My bodysuit is from Forever 21, plaid and jeans from Discovery Clothing, sunglasses from TJMaxx, and Adidas from DSW.

These TJMaxx sunglasses are so different than what I usually wear, but I was determined to step outside of my aviator sunglass bubble this summer. They have kind of a blue hue to the lens and the frames are an octagon shape.

I love how comfy casual this outfit was for walking all around the city. With the wind coming off of the lake, I never know how the weather will feel, so I always have some sort of warm layer I can wear over my outfit. This plaid was so perfect for those breezy moments when the sun went down. Also, comfy shoes for the win! Lots of walking (and dancing) happened this day.

I had been waiting and waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear this gorgeous lace high low skirt that I got for Christmas from Venus, and I finally had my chance! My wife, her family, and I all made dinner reservations at the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the Hancock Tower.

If you have never been to the Signature room and you live near Chicago city, you need to go! Not only is the view absolutely amazing, if it’s a clear day, but the food was to die for! I ordered their half roasted chicken – perfectly crunchy skin laid over a bed of spatzle. Delicious.

I paired my Venus skirt with a simple (old) black tank, fancy rhinestone wrapped heels from DSW, and my Target purse.

This is just the lobby of the Hancock Tower. Gorgeous! You can only imagine how amazing the restaurant is if the lobby is this beautiful.
