Sephora 20% Sale Wish List

Hi loves!

It has been forever. I’ve honestly just been relaxing on these past 2 weeks off before I start up with my PreK class again and PERFECT TIMING FOR my 20% OFF SEPHORA HAUL WISH LIST!

With fall around the corner, I have been researching the top makeup and skincare trends for all of you!

20% off at Sephora starts up for VIB Rouge members this Friday and although I have already solidified my Rouge membership for next year (yes, shopping addiction much?) there is never enough makeup sitting on my vanity. If you are a VIB member you will receive 15% off, and beauty insiders receive 10% starting Monday, August 3rd.

Here is a little cheatsheet for ya!

I am definitely going to need to do some purging as my vanity is getting a bit crazy, but I have been busy adding some final touches recently to my little beauty area in my bedroom. I just added this lamp today that I got for free from a friend who just recently moved.

Would you guys want me to do a vanity tour for you? Let me know in the comments section please!

CoverFX Foundation | click to shop

Screen Shot 2018-08-22 at 2.45.17 PM.png

This foundation is for combination oily skin (over here please!) Also, I love that it is free of mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, gluten, and it is vegan. On the Sephora website, this product claims to “provide a transfer-proof, matte finish; all-day shine control; and pigments that will not oxidize.” I tend to use full coverage foundations such as this one.

Anastasia Norvina Eyeshadow Palette | click to shop

Screen Shot 2018-08-22 at 2.55.44 PM

This pallet is called Norvina named after the Brand President. These colors are seriously what I dream about when I dream up an eyeshadow palette. I love the 50/50 matte and sparkly pigments. Eccentric is such a GORGEOUS color for the Fall season as well as Passion and Drama. I have never used Anastasia’s eyeshadows before, but if they are anything like their eyebrow line in quality then sign me up please.

Clinique Blackhead Solutions Self-heating Blackhead Extractor | click to shop

Screen Shot 2018-08-22 at 3.07.20 PM

This next one is beyond intriguing to me. This product is from Clinique, which always has great products, but I am super skeptical about it. This product claims to “provide a 93 percent reduction in blackheads in six weeks”. I have blackheads all over my nose and even on my chin (which is a new development for me, thank you age). If anyone has tried this product before I attempt to buy it, I would love to hear your feedback.

Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush | click to shop

Screen Shot 2018-08-22 at 3.17.02 PM.png Now I’m not usually a fan of whipped products because of my oily skin, but this blush is so different than any other whipped product I have put on my face. After applied, it “transforms into a long-lasting, weightless, breathable powder with a soft-matte finish.” HOLY SH**! So many gorgeous colors to choose from in order to compliment your skin tone the best. Also dermatologist tested and free of oil and fragrance. This is a must buy on my list!

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow | click to shop

Screen Shot 2018-08-22 at 3.22.07 PM

With 5 gorgeous colors, champagne, copper, gold, pink, and taupe (pictured), this glitter eyeshadow looks super pigmented. Hourglass has always prided themselves on being paraben and sulfate free and this product is no exception. These sophisticated shades are perfect to bring some shine and pizzaz (do people even say that word anymore) to your makeup collection.

Good Things Come in Small Packages

Hi loves!

No, I’m not talking about a little black or turquoise box that costs a fortune; I’m talking about mini eyeshadow pallets.

You would be hard pressed to find a regular size, good quality, brand name eyeshadow pallet for less than $50. Don’t get me wrong, I love Urban Decay; but currently their full sized Naked pallets retail for $54. No thank you!

I am a teacher on a budget, therefore I have found my favorite brand name eyeshadow pallets for less by purchasing the mini travel sizes.

Keep reading to see my favorite, affordable, name brand pallets.

Huda Beauty | Mauve Obsessions

6 matte and 3 shimmer pigments ranging from dusty rose and deep red, to a rich plum color. With this pallet, you can take create a daytime look as well as a sultry night look. A similar full size pallet from Huda Bauty usually costs about $65. Another plus, all of their eyeshadows are paraben free.

Too Faced | Natural Eyes

This product has been redesigned recently and does not have the same packaging as mine, however it is the exact same product. This pallet comes with 9 natural colors ranging from pink to brown hues. This is one of my favorites because this product also comes with a cheat sheet to show you how to apply each look in the pallet.

Urban Decay | Naked Basics

This pallet has 6 matte tones that can be built up or applied sparingly for both day and night looks. The mini Naked Basics eyeshadow line has 2 different pallets, Naked Basics and Naked2 Basics. The original Naked Basics ranges from light cream tones to black. The Naked2 Basics pallet has cream colored pigments to dark brown tones. Both pallets are only $29 each!

Affordable Anniversary Makeup

Hi loves!

Wow, one year of marriage flew by!

If you have been following me on Instagram, then you know that I had promised a post about my one year anniversary makeup look. I put together a little makeup video for you all, however the current platform I use on my blog doesn’t support video :(. To see a snippet of my video, head on over to my Insta.

Currently, I am sitting here trying to distract myself from wondering what my wife has planned for me today. Our one year anniversary is technically tomorrow, June 10th, but Brit has planned a fun filled day for us today and won’t tell me what we are doing. It is literally a miracle that she hasn’t spilled the beans yet as she is not good at keeping secrets.

In preparation for the day, I have been busy putting together outfits and playing around with makeup. Below, I have listed the affordable products I used to achieve this look.

Products Used

My Favorite Products

Number 1, definitely the Covergirl Outlast Lip Color in Eternal Flame. This lipstick has the best staying power of any lipstick I have ever worn. This product comes with 2 things, the color lipstick and a lip gloss. The reason this color stays to well is because it’s formula is similar to a paint. It goes on wet and then dries after a minute (if you watched my insta video, you will see I am trying to dry it faster). When you kiss your honey, THE COLOR DOES NOT TRANSFER! HALLELUJAH!!! Once dry, you then apply the lip gloss, making your lips feel moisturized and glossy. Never ever have to reapply. One and done! It’s literally a dream come true. And for only $8 at any local drugstore!

Second favorite? The NYX | Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in Porcelain. For only $5, this little pot of magic completely covered all of my acne and dark spots. Because the formula is so pigmented, a little goes a long way, thus making it amazingly affordable.

A Face Lotion Proven to Work

Hi loves!

We have all tried those face creams that promise to get rid of dry patches and skin scales. Beautiful packaging, promising of results, and the best part?! They DON’T WORK!

Well, have no fear loves, because I am going to share with you a moisturizer I have used for years and love!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

Click image to shop – $14.50
I have oily to combination skin, and when using this product, I never get that oily residue feel on my face.

How I Use

  • about a blueberry size amount
  • distribute a small dot onto my cheeks and forehead
  • rub in, starting with outer part of face, since I have an oily t-zone
  • Use leftover product on t-zone

When used morning and night, this 1.7oz tube lasted me about 2 months; definitely so worth spending the $14.50 on.

Makeup Monday with NYX Lingerie Lipstick

Hi loves!

Makeup Monday is in full effect and I am gonna share with you one of my favorite brands — NYX.

I promised ya I would try to share products that were cheap and good quality, and I fully believe that this product qualifies!

This NYX liquid lipstick line is called Lingerie, which is such great marketing (sex sells sometimes). This line is targeted toward being a sexy matte liquid lipstick. Each product is named something to do with lingerie — Lace Detail, Corset, and Teddy are the 3 that I will be reviewing.

This lipstick applies easily and has great staying power. The best part — only $7!

This lipstick applies with a wand, which I usually am not a fan of, but the liquid itself glides on so nicely that I had no problem applying with the wand.

I could literally wear this lipstick all night without it wearing off or reapplying every 10 minutes. It dries similar to a paint without the “paint like” feel.

Another AMAZING perk of this product is that it is super pigmented. I have never come across a company as inexpensive as this that applies just like a high end lipstick from Sephora.

I picked up these colors at my local Target, but you can purchase them straight from the NYX website HERE.
